I am an artist, curator, and researcher, with master’s degrees in sociology from the University of Vienna and the University of Mugla (TR), as well as in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. My practice includes historical research, installation, video essay, editorial and curatorial work. I explore issues of memory, borders, economical arenas of global war, and landscape based on historical events, personal and institutional archives, and contemporary developments. My works unfold between spaces, colors, objects, and bodies and deal with shifts in the meaning of places and their social structure. The fragmentary narratives and images are my artistic method as an attempt to address the question of which and whose stories gain visibility.
In 2018 and 2020, I curated the exhibition krieg kuratieren (curating war) at Dessous Wien and the Kunstraum Innsbruck, which dealt with the practice of exhibiting and organizing of wars as well as the question of artistic perspectives in the politics of memory. I was on the editorial board of the art magazine Bildpunkt (2016 - 2019) and a board member of IG Bildende Kunst (2016 - 2020).
From 2018 to 2023, I also worked as an editorial member for the online magazine MIGRAZINE - Online Magazine by Migrant Women for Everyone.
I am a Ph.D. researcher at the Institute for Art and Cultural Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. I worked there as a lecturer and teaching assistant between 2020-2022. Currently, I am university assistant (pre-doc) at the Department for Transcultural Studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and teach in the field of research methodologies.
My dissertation topic deals with the 1932-1939 American-French excavations at Antioch and Daphne. I have received some grants for my project, including a Marietta Blau Grant / Austrian Agency for International Mobility, OeAD (2023-2024), a fellowship for international communication / Austrian Research Association, ÖFG (2023) and GO.INVESTIGATIO - Archive and Travel Grant / Austrian Academy of Sciences, ÖAW (2024-2025). I am conducting my fieldwork in North America, Lebanon, France, and Turkey.
